Job summary

The Nemours Foundation invites applications for a Lead Registered Nurse (RN) in Ambulatory Pediatric Care at our Newark, Delaware location. The Lead RN provides clinical oversight, mentors staff, and supports day-to-day ambulatory operations to ensure safe, high-quality pediatric care.

Responsibilities include staff interviews and onboarding, coordinating orientation to reach 90-day goals, and ensuring adherence to Nemours standards while facilitating efficient patient flow.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• Must have or be eligible for Delaware RN license.
• Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) or national certification recognized by ANCC preferred.
• 1–3 years of job related experience required.
• Pediatric Office Nurse experience required.
• Phone Triage experience preferred.
• BLS Certification with the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Performs the essential job functions of the Registered Nurse in ambulatory care.
• Participates in interviewing and hiring of clinical staff.
• Coordinates and monitors orientation of new clinical staff to meet 90 day goals.
• Provides oversight of clinical staff to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
• Monitors annual competencies for clinical staff.
• Serves as flow facilitator for timely patient care.
• Uses EMR reviews and audits to provide feedback to staff.
• Collaborates with nurse/office manager to maintain professional behavior.
• Manages medication and vaccine processes to ensure compliance with standards.
• Participates in lead nurse meetings and shares information.
