Job summary

Nemours is seeking a Lead Registered Nurse for our Pediatric Ambulatory services in Newark, Delaware. This role provides clinical oversight, mentorship, and resource support to the ambulatory clinical staff, ensuring safety and high-quality care.

The Lead RN will collaborate with the Nurse Manager and Physician in Charge to optimize day-to-day operations and staff performance, including interviewing and onboarding new personnel and ensuring competency across the team.

Qualifications

• BSN required; must be eligible for Delaware nursing license.
• Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) or national certification recognized by ANCC preferred.
• 1–3 years of job-related experience required.

Responsibilities

• Performs lead RN duties in ambulatory pediatric primary care.
• Acts as a resource and mentor for clinical staff.
• Oversees clinical performance and ensures safety and quality of care.
• Leads orientation and onboarding of new clinical staff to meet 90-day goals.
• Coaches and provides feedback to staff; monitors adherence to Nemours standards.
• Coordinates medication and vaccine processes per regulations.
• Participates in lead nurse meetings and information sharing.
