Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Manager to own Payroll M&A Integration, leading payroll-related activities across acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic integrations. You will coordinate with M&A COE, regional Payroll Operations, Finance, Tax, and external vendors to ensure seamless employee transitions and payroll continuity throughout the lifecycle.

The role requires 7+ years in payroll, 3+ years in integration management, and deep knowledge of global payroll operations, compliance, and controls.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of payroll experience with increasing responsibility.
• 3+ years of project, program, or M&A integration management experience.
• Deep knowledge of multi-country payroll operations, compliance, and controls.
• Experience working with HRIS and payroll platforms (Workday, ADP, Oracle, or similar).
• Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
• Experience leading payroll integrations during acquisitions or divestitures.
• Experience working in a shared services or global business services organization.
• Knowledge of payroll tax, mobility, equity, and international payroll practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead Payroll Integration Strategy & Execution.
• Serve as the primary payroll lead for all acquisition, divestiture, and integration activities.
• Partner with regional Payroll Operations teams to define payroll operating model requirements, dependencies, and success criteria.
• Coordinate payroll activities from due diligence through stabilization and operational handoff.
• Ensure business continuity and uninterrupted payroll delivery during integration periods.
• Lead payroll workstream activities.
• Partner with Workday Product & Engineering team, Payroll Operations, M&A COE and external providers to ensure successful technical implementation.
• Ensure payroll integrations comply with local, state, federal, and international regulatory requirements.
• Maintain strong internal controls and audit readiness throughout integration activities.
• Identify and mitigate payroll compliance risks associated with acquisitions and divestitures.
• Partner with M&A COE to maintain payroll integration playbooks, templates, and best practices.
• Incorporate lessons learned into future integrations.
• Identify opportunities to streamline integration activities and improve scalability.
