Job summary

Moody's Investors Service is seeking a seasoned Global Payroll lead to drive end-to-end payroll programs across multiple jurisdictions. You will own M&A payroll integrations, coordinate with People Team Operations and Benefits, and ensure tax compliance while optimizing processes and controls.

The role requires strong Workday HCM expertise, experience with ADP and CloudPay, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading global payroll projects and process improvements.
• Experience with M&A payroll integration, data migration, and harmonization of pay and time practices.
• Hands-on Workday HCM for payroll processes, configuration, testing, and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. and international payroll tax rules, filings, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage global payroll projects from initiation through completion, including scoping, planning, stakeholder alignment, risk management, and post-implementation review.
• Own payroll workstreams for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, including due diligence support, payroll system/data integration, harmonization of pay practices, and post-close stabilization.
• Identify, design, and implement process improvement and automation initiatives that increase payroll accuracy and reduce manual effort.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on Workday HCM functionality, configuration, and reporting; partner with HRIS/Technology teams on enhancements, testing, and issue resolution.
• Maintain strong working knowledge of ADP payroll processing and, where applicable, CloudPay, to support in-country and outsourced payroll delivery models.
• Partner with the People Team, including People Team Operations and Benefits, to ensure seamless coordination of payroll-impacting processes.
• Work closely with VP of Americas Payroll and VP of International Payroll to align on shared priorities and cross-regional projects.
• Apply understanding of U.S. and international payroll tax rules to ensure compliant processing, filings, and reporting across jurisdictions.
• Develop and maintain payroll process documentation, controls and SOPs for audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
• Provide regular reporting to senior leadership on project status, risks, and payroll metrics.
• Mentor and manage payroll operations team members and foster a culture of accuracy and continuous improvement.
• Maintain a risk register for global payroll with Moody's GRC tool.
• Collaborate with internal audit and SOX on payroll audits.
