Cornerstone Auto Group in Elk River, MN is seeking a Lead Payroll Clerk to oversee weekly payroll, reconcile timecards, and ensure accurate postings for the accounting office.

The role requires an AA degree or equivalent, supervisory experience, and a solid accounting background. We offer paid training, PTO, flexible schedule, and a strong benefit package.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in payroll processing.

• Prior supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reconciles time cards, prepares worksheets, and posts payroll weekly.
• Posts flat rate flag sheets weekly and assists monthly closings.
• Prepares analysis of accounts and supports special projects.
• Ensures accurate payroll, W-2s, and personnel records; maintains reports.

Qualifications

Primary duties of a Lead Payroll Clerk will consist of but not limited to:

• Reconciles time cards, prepares work sheets for the office manager, and posts payroll on a weekly basis


• Posts flat rate flag sheets on a weekly basis.


• Assists in monthly closings.


• Prepares analysis of accounts, as required.


• Assists with special projects, as necessary.


• Responsible for accurate and timely payroll preparation, transfers, quarterly reports, W-2's, maintain personnel files and payroll changes and reports.


• Monitor, inspect, track and prepare paperwork as required.


• Know and understand the federal, state and local regulations that affect accounting and personnel areas.

Education and/or Experience for a Lead Payroll Clerk:

• Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


• Supervisory experience.


• Accounting background

Qualifications and Requirements for a Lead Payroll Clerk:

• Current, valid Drivers License with driving record that meets insurance company standards


• Willing to submit and the ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen


• Excellent communications skills both verbal and written


• Good working relations with customers by providing courteous, efficient and professional service
