Job summary

JPMorganChase in the United States seeks a Payments Negotiation Attorney to provide transactional and strategic legal support for client contract negotiations in wholesale payments. You will advise on transaction structures, legal and regulatory issues, and help deliver clear, compliant customer documentation while collaborating with product counsel.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor or equivalent law degree required with active bar admission.
Experience negotiating complex wholesale payments or financial services contracts is preferred.
Strong analytical and risk assessment skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

Draft and negotiate a wide range of wholesale payments client documentation.
Advise business partners on transaction structures and related legal/regulatory issues.
Coordinate with product counsel and other legal teams to maintain templates and negotiation playbooks.
Support development and adoption of negotiation technology tools to improve speed, consistency, and quality.
Review customer-facing documentation to ensure clarity, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with stakeholders to align legal guidance with business needs and risk standards.
Identify recurring negotiation themes and propose updates to templates and processes.
