Job summary

South Baldwin Medical Group is seeking a Patient Care Technician Lead to support high-quality, patient-centered care in an inpatient setting under RN supervision. The role includes direct patient assistance with daily living activities, mobility, and vital signs, while coordinating onboarding and training for PCT staff.

You will lead unit orientation, mentor staff, and collaborate with vendors to promote skill development and exceptional patient experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved Patient Care Technician or Nursing Assistant program required.
• 1-3 years of experience as a Patient Care Technician or Nursing Assistant required.
• 0-1 years of experience in a lead or preceptor role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under RN supervision, including hygiene, nutrition, mobility, and comfort.
• Records vital signs, intake/output, weight, and other data; escalates abnormalities.
• Assists with point-of-care testing and specimen collection as trained.
• Leads unit orientation for new PCTs and coordinates coaching.
• Mentors PCT staff and coordinates in-service training with subject matter experts.
• Maintains a safe, clean patient care environment and reports maintenance or safety issues.
