Qualifications

• Completion of an approved Patient Care Technician or Nursing Assistant program required.
• 1-3 years of experience as a Patient Care Technician or Nursing Assistant required.
• 0-1 years of experience in a lead or preceptor role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care in accordance with established protocols and under the supervision of an RN, including assistance with hygiene, nutrition, mobility, and comfort.
• Obtains and records patient vital signs, intake and output, weight, and other key data throughout the shift, escalating abnormalities as appropriate.
• Assists with point-of-care testing and specimen collection within scope of training.
• Supports patient safety by assisting with fall precautions, monitoring at-risk patients, and participating in hourly rounding.
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe patient care environment; stocks supplies and reports maintenance or safety issues.
• Leads the unit orientation process for new PCTs, including schedule development, progress tracking, and coaching.
• Coordinates in-service training and collaborates with vendors or subject matter experts to facilitate skill development.
• Acts as a mentor to PCT staff by modeling professional behavior, teamwork, and adherence to policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
