Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a Patient Care Technician Lead to support high-quality, patient-centered care on an inpatient unit. The role mentors PCT staff, coordinates onboarding and training, and collaborates with the RN to ensure adherence to safety and care protocols.

Responsibilities include direct patient care under RN supervision, vital signs monitoring, and leading the unit orientation process.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved Patient Care Technician or Nursing Assistant program.
• 1-3 years of experience as a Patient Care Technician or Nursing Assistant.
• 0-1 years of experience in a lead or preceptor role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN supervision, including hygiene, mobility and comfort.
• Record and monitor vital signs, intake/output, and other data; escalate abnormalities.
• Lead unit orientation for new PCTs: schedule, progress tracking, coaching.
