Job summary

HCA Healthcare Trident Hospital is seeking a Lead Patient Care Tech to be an integral part of the nursing team in the MedSurg Neuro Unit. You will provide hands-on patient care, assist with procedures, and guide and support the growth of PCT staff.

The role requires CNA licensure (SC preferred or obtained within 30 days), BLS certification, and familiarity with telemetry. Prior acute care experience is preferred, with a focus on compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• CNA license in SC preferred or must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• AHA/Red Cross BLS Health Care Provider certification required or obtained within 30 days.
• 1 year of acute/hospital experience preferred.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification within 90 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, mobility support, comfort, vital signs, specimen collection, procedures prep, and telemetry monitoring.
• Document patient care accurately and communicate updates to the nursing team for coordinated care.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment by following infection prevention practices and ensuring supplies and equipment are ready.
• Respond to patient needs through regular rounding and compassionate communication to promote comfort and trust.
• Train and mentor new team members and share policy and quality improvement updates.
