Job summary

Sentara Obici Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Med/Surg Telemetry Unit. This full-time day shift (7A-7P) role supports patient care, ADLs, vital signs, mobility, phlebotomy, EKGs, and specimen collection under RN supervision.

Required education includes a high school diploma or equivalent, with BLS within 90 days. Related healthcare experience (1 year) is required and CNA/NCMA/NCPCT certifications are acceptable. Training programs may be considered for eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist with activities of daily living, vital signs, mobility and ambulation, phlebotomy, point of care testing, EKG testing, peripheral IV removal, specimen collection, and Foley catheter insertion/removal.
• Observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and document changes, reporting to RN.
