Job summary

Community Bridges, Inc. (CBI) is seeking a Lead Patient Care Technician to join the multi-disciplinary treatment team. The Lead PCT will coordinate with RNs, PCTs, and BHMPs to ensure safe, high-quality care for behavioral health patients, and provide direct patient care when needed.

The role includes overseeing PCTs on their shift, addressing safety concerns, and guiding staff during crisis interventions and seclusion/seclusion episodes. Knowledge of program policies is essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Highschool diploma or GED; Associate degree or higher preferred.
  • 1+ year health care related experience in behavioral/medical crisis situations required.
  • EMT certification (Arizona) preferred but not required; CNA certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with RN, PCT, and BHMP to ensure a safe environment and quality care.
  • Provide direct patient care when needed and supervise PCTs on shift.
  • Identify environmental and patient safety concerns and direct non-violent interventions per policy.

Lead Patient Care Technician

The Lead Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team that provides direct care to behavioral health patients as well as oversight and support to the PCTs assigned to their shift. The Lead PCT coordinates with the Registered Nurses (RN), Patient Care Technicians (PCT), and Behavioral Health Medical Practitioners (BHMP) to ensure a safe environment and quality care is provided to all presenting for services. The Lead PCT is also responsible for the safety and operational effectiveness of the unit they are assigned to, including identifying environmental and patient specific safety concerns, directing staff during non‑violent physical interventions and seclusion and restraint episodes and providing direct patient care when needed. The Lead PCT is expected to have full knowledge of program policy and procedures.

Skills/Requirements
  • Highschool diploma or GED required. Associate degree or higher preferred.
  • One (1) or more years of health care related experience where his or her prior experience would provide adequate exposure to both behavioral and medical crisis situations required.
  • Emergency Medical Technician certification (valid within the state of Arizona) is preferred but not required for this position.
  • Certified Nurse Assistant certification (current and valid within the State of Arizona) is preferred but not required of this position.
  • Valid identification required.
