Job summary
Community Bridges, Inc. (CBI) seeks a Patient Care Technician to join its behavioral health team in Mesa, AZ. The PCT provides direct patient care under the medical direction of a Registered Nurse, in person or telephonic, supporting safety and treatment goals.
Work alongside RNs, supervisors, and program managers to ensure quality care; prior healthcare or behavioral health experience preferred; strong communication and compassionate approach required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with related behavioral health education or equivalent work experience.
- Four years of full-time behavioral health work experience, or
- Associate’s degree with at least two years of behavioral health work experience;
- Bachelor’s in a field other than behavioral health with at least one year of related experience;
- Master’s or related degree in behavioral health; or
- Six months of recovery from substance use/mental health preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Support safety of the unit and report safety concerns to the RN, Lead PCT, or supervisor.

CBI provides residential, outpatient, inpatient, patient-centered medical homes, medication-assisted treatment, and crisis services to individuals experiencing crisis, opioid use disorder, homelessness, and mental illness.

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team that provides direct care to behavioral health patients working under the medical direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) in person or telephonic. The primary focus is direct patient care as directed and delegated by the RN, Lead PCT, Operation Supervisor, Operations Administrator, or Program Manager. The PCT is also responsible for the safety of the unit they are assigned to, including identifying environmental and patient specific safety concerns, and elevating those concerns to the RN, RN Manager, Operations Supervisor, or designee as needed.
- Highschool diploma or GED and either: * 18 credit hours of post-high school education in a field related to behavioral health and two years of full-time behavioral health work experience; or
- Four years of full-time behavioral health work experience, or
- Has an associate’s degree and at least two years of full-time behavioral health work experience; or
- Has a bachelor’s degree in a field other than behavioral health and at least one year of full-time behavioral health work experience; or
- Has a master’s degree or bachelor’s degree in a field related to behavioral health; or
- Minimum of six months of recovery from substance use and/or mental health disorders preferred.
