Callen-Lorde is seeking a Billing Associate to join our patient accounts team in New York. You will lead billing activities, verify insurance, and manage claims processing to ensure timely reimbursements across medical, behavioral health, and dental services.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of medical billing experience, knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT4 coding, and strong PC and spreadsheet skills. Bilingual Spanish/English is highly preferred, with a commitment to accuracy and excellent

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, high school diploma required
• 1+ year of medical billing experience required
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT4 coding; familiarity with Federal & NY State privacy and billing regulations/laws
• Knowledge in third-party medical insurance eligibility and coverage
• Strong Internet, PC, and spreadsheet skills
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) highly preferred

Aufgaben

• Act as the lead billing contact, collaborating with medical staff to ensure timely patient account generation and reimbursement.
• Maintain accurate and efficient patient flow through our medical, behavioral health, and dental financial systems.
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients, answering billing and insurance questions with courtesy.
• Handle all aspects of the billing cycle: insurance verification and authorization; treatment plan setup and monitoring; claims entry, processing, re-billing, and corrections; payment entry and reconciliation.
• Perform overall account maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Stay up-to-date on billing regulations and procedures.
