Job summary

Dayton Children's Hospital is seeking a Full-time Patient Access professional for the Emergency Department at the Main Campus. The role involves supporting the team, mentoring staff, and driving process improvements in pre-registration, registration and collections to enhance the patient experience.

Responsibilities include cross-department communication, de-escalation when necessary, and floating to Main ED, South ED, and Huber Heights locations.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work tactfully with patients, staff, and interdepartmental customers
• Proficient in customer service and data collection processes
• Ability to lead and motivate a team
• Knowledge of healthcare billing regulations, insurance and compliance requirements
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support to the team and facilitate problem solving with internal and external customers
• Mentor point-of-service operations employees and coach using patient access standards
• Assist supervisor/manager in improving processes for registration, pre-registration, pre-service estimates and collections
• Contribute to department quality improvement initiatives
• Communicate effectively across departments and clinics to Dayton Children's
• Engage customers with de-escalation techniques when needed
• Assist with float to multiple ED locations as required
