Job summary

Shelby Farms Park Conservancy in Memphis, TN, is seeking a Heart of the Park Maintenance Technician to lead facility and systems upkeep in Zone 1, focusing on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and infrastructure. This role ensures safety, reliability, and a positive visitor experience.

You will coordinate with the HOP Manager and Sales + Events, supervise preventative maintenance, use MaintainX for tracking, and manage contractor work, while upholding high standards of professionalism and asset

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on maintenance or building operations.
• Proficiency with basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tools.
• Basic understanding of irrigation, hardscape, and minor vehicle repair.
• Familiar with MaintainX (or similar CMMS), Trello, and Google Suite.
• Strong communication and ability to work with diverse teams and the public.
• Ability to work independently with good judgment, especially under pressure.
• Physically able to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in all seasons.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance and repairs for HOP facilities and amenities.
• Troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and sewage systems.
• Perform regular inspections for reliability and safety.
• Oversee preventative maintenance schedules in HOP.
• Coordinate contractors for specialized work.
• Develop and maintain preventative maintenance plans.
• Use MaintainX to track inspections and generate reports.
• Communicate with the HOP Manager and events teams to coordinate work.
• Respond to urgent maintenance calls and safety incidents.
