Job summary

Prince George’s County Government seeks a Lead Painter in the Office of Central Services, Facilities Operation and Management Division. The role leads a crew of skilled tradespeople, ensuring quality painting, repairs, and refinishing across county facilities, reporting to the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor.

Based at Forestville, MD, this essential position requires a high school diploma, maintenance experience, and a valid driver’s license; candidates must be ready for 24/7 emergency

Qualifications

• High school or vocational schooling required.
• Experience in general maintenance trades at full performance level.
• Valid driver's license with no more than six points.
• Willingness to respond to 24-hour emergency calls.
• Good physical condition.

Responsibilities

• Performs painting, restorative, and improvement work in county buildings (drywall, coatings, patching).
• Leads and directs Maintenance Service Attendants and other team members on complex projects.
• Responds to work orders via the SAP Work Order Management system.
• Coordinates carpentry-related painting/refinishing efforts with the Carpentry Team.
• Performs additional tasks within the trade category as assigned.
