Prince George’s County Government is seeking a Lead Painter (Maintenance Services Attendant 3A) in Forestville, MD. The role leads a crew in skilled trades, performs painting and refinishing tasks, and coordinates with the Carpentry Team to meet project timelines.

The ideal candidate has strong maintenance experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to respond to emergencies 24/7. This essential position contributes to county facilities safety and upkeep.

Qualifications

Completion of high school or vocational school.
Responsible experience in general maintenance trades at full performance level.
Possession of a valid driver’s license with no more than six points.
Willingness to respond to emergency service calls on a 24-hour basis.
Good physical condition.
Any equivalent combination of training, education and experience may also be considered.

Responsibilities

Performs painting, restoration and improvement work in county-owned or leased buildings.
Leads and directs Maintenance Service Attendants and Trades Helpers on complex projects.
Responds to work orders in the SAP Work Order Management system.
Coordinates with Carpentry Team to stage painting and finish work according to schedule.
Performs additional tasks within the general occupational category as needed.
