Job summary

Key Appointments is seeking an Assembly Team Leader for the Paint & Final Assembly department in Queensbury, Bradford. This hands-on role leads a small team to keep production moving, maintain high quality and ensure on-time delivery of bespoke timber windows, doors, conservatories and orangeries.

The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day operations, coordinate workflow, monitor schedules, mentor staff and help implement SOPs in a busy workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in bench joinery, glazing and fitting ironmongery.
• Good understanding of timber window and door manufacturing.
• Previous leadership, supervisory or team-leading experience.
• Ability to plan, organise and manage several jobs at the same time.
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the day-to-day operation of the paint and final assembly department.
• Planning and coordinating workflow to ensure jobs progress efficiently.
• Monitoring production schedules and ensuring deadlines are met.
• Identifying bottlenecks, delays or material shortages and resolving them.
• Ensuring windows, doors and frames are assembled, glazed and fitted properly.
• Maintaining high standards of finish, accuracy and consistency.
• Holding daily progress meetings with the team.
• Communicating issues affecting quality or production timescales to management.
• Mentoring team members and developing SOPs.
• Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, safety and quality.
