Job summary

e.l.f. Beauty is seeking an experienced packaging engineer to lead development for Naturium cosmetics, focusing on sustainability, PCR/PIR content, and compliant documentation. You will collaborate with creative, sourcing, and regional teams to align packaging with our long-term strategy.

Responsibilities include evaluating samples, building risk assessments, and guiding supplier negotiations to achieve cost efficiency while meeting quality goals and regulatory standards across global launches.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in cosmetic package development.
• Concentrated experience in beauty industry with proven development experience in skin care, fragrance, and color categories.
• Comprehensive knowledge of global supplier community.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and chemical PCR and PIR structures.
• Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing and distribution process as it relates to supporting targeted and global product launch strategies.
• Deep/practical packaging expertise in sustainability and awareness of best practices and emerging opportunities/technologies that support sustainability objectives.
• Ability to create package specification, fill and assemblies, and control plan.
• Ability to audit testing to qualify new packages.
• Understanding of sustainability initiatives and upcoming packaging regulations.
• Ability to develop risk assessments and timetables.

Responsibilities

• Lead packaging development for Naturium, including sustainability goals, technical analysis, testing, PCR decoration execution, and filling.
• Assess sustainability and compliance regulations across the packaging portfolio.
• Partner with creative, sourcing, and China teams to deliver PCR and PIR materials into packaging with premium color matching, decoration, and compliant documentation.
• Support sourcing and cost-reduction initiatives by leading supplier negotiations.
• Update the Naturium portfolio with current PCR/PIR content and compliance documentation.
• Own Declaration of Conformity implementation across the portfolio.
• Build relationships across functional teams to align with e.l.f.’s long-term strategy.
• Provide project milestone updates and communicate technical, timing, and risk issues.
• Provide technical solutions supporting timeline targets, cost avoidance, and quality improvement.
• Develop risk assessments and timetables.
• Evaluate package samples, prototypes, and supplier technical capability.
• Communicate with packaging suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure specifications are followed.
