Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced Owner’s Advisor for water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will guide clients through planning, design, construction, and commissioning with a strong emphasis on technical excellence and regulatory alignment.

A Professional Engineer is preferred; travel may be required, including domestic and international assignments. You will mentor junior staff and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 15 years of related experience.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience can substitute for a degree.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary client advocate throughout project delivery.
• Provide technical guidance on water and wastewater infrastructure and regulatory requirements.
• Review designs and construction documents for alignment with client objectives and standards.
• Collaborate with design and construction teams to identify and mitigate risks.
• Monitor progress, budgets, schedules, contracts, and change orders.
• Facilitate communication among clients, contractors, engineers, regulators and stakeholders.
• Conduct site visits to assess construction progress, quality and safety.
