Job summary

YMCA of Honolulu is seeking a Lead Program Instructor to supervise and lead a range of Outdoor Education activities with a strong emphasis on Environmental Education and Team Building during school trips to Camp Erdman. You will orient teachers, facilitate programs, and be the primary school contact throughout the trip.

The role requires living on-site at Camp Erdman, strong leadership, enthusiasm, humor, and patience, with a focus on child development and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in camp or outdoor settings.
• Understanding of childhood development and group management.
• Camp leadership experience required.

Responsibilities

• Orient teachers on arrival and serve as primary contact for the school.
• Lead and facilitate outdoor education programs and team-building activities.
• Set up and lead evening programs for school groups.
• Live on-site at Camp Erdman as housing is assigned.
• Attend training and YMCA functions as required.
