Under the supervision of the Senior Program Director, this position primarily involves the supervision and leading of a variety of safe and fun Outdoor Education activities with a strong emphasis on Environmental Education and Team Building and communicating with teachers during their trip to Camp Erdman. The Lead Program Instructor will orient teachers upon arrival, answer any questions they have, facilitate programs, set-up (or lead) evening programs for school groups, and be a primary point of contact for a school throughout their trip to Erdman. The Lead Program Instructor must have a thorough understanding of the YMCA's mission and goals, and a desire to work with children. Leadership skills, enthusiasm, patience, a sense of humor, and self-control are all essential.
Education/Training:
The YMCA requires all staff to share responsibility for preventing child abuse by upholding professional boundaries, completing mandatory Praesidium training, and reporting concerns. All candidates must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening, including criminal and sex offender checks.
