Innova Solutions Inc. is seeking a Lead Oracle Database Administrator for an onsite role in Maryland Heights, MO. This full-time, contract position focuses on owning Oracle DB operations, monitoring, and performance tuning to maximize uptime.

You will mentor staff, coordinate deployments, manage change controls, and ensure business continuity while supporting on-call incident resolution for critical systems.

Qualifications

• 10+ years Oracle DBA experience.
• Experience as Lead or Manager with team leadership responsibilities.
• Hands-on with database cloud migrations (AWS, GCP or similar).
• Strong background in data migration, capacity planning, and database performance tuning.
• Experience budgeting, forecasting, and multi-year technology roadmaps.
• Ability to serve as a technical advisor evaluating tools, services and vendor solutions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day administration, health, and proactive monitoring of Oracle production databases to ensure maximum uptime.
• Lead, mentor, and develop junior team members, setting best practices for database administration.
• Partner with application teams to orchestrate deployments, author MOP documents, and manage change tickets.
• Ensure business continuity and seamless 24/7 operational readiness of critical infrastructure.
• Analyze daily health checks to identify and remediate potential anomalies before they impact production.
• Participate in on-call rotation and assist in incident resolution for complex database issues.
• Attend morning and evening handovers to ensure smooth operational transitions.
• Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to plan database patch cycles, execute changes, and manage risk.

A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Lead Oracle Database Administrator.

Position Type: Full-Time, Contract

Duration: 12+ months

Location: Maryland Heights, MO 63043 (Onsite)

Asa Lead Oracle Database Administrator, you will:

• Database Administration & Monitoring: Oversee the day-to-day administration, health, and proactive monitoring of critical Oracle production databases to ensure maximum uptime.
• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Guide, mentor, and foster the professional growth of junior team members, establishing best practices for database administration.
• Deployment & Change Management: Partner with application teams to orchestrate database deployments, author comprehensive -Method of Procedure (MOP) documents, and manage change tickets.
• Business Continuity: Quickly integrate into the team to ensure a seamless transition of responsibilities and safeguard critical application infrastructure.
• Proactive Maintenance: Analyze daily health check reports to identify and remediate potential anomalies before they impact production environments.
• Incident Management: Participate in the team’s on-call rotation and join production bridge lines to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues in real time.
• Operational Handovers: Attend morning and evening handover meetings to ensure seamless 24/7 operational continuity and knowledge sharing.
• Release & Patch Coordination: Collaborate with application developers and stakeholders to plan database patching cycles, execute changes, and manage risk.

The ideal candidate will have:

• 10+ years of Oracle DBA experience.
• Experience as a Lead or Manager, with team leadership and mentoring responsibilities.
• Hands‑on experience with database cloud migrations (AWS, GCP, or similar).
• Strong background in data migration, capacity planning, and database performance tuning.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and multi‑year technology roadmaps.
• Ability to serve as a technical advisor, evaluating tools, services, and vendor solutions.
• Experience leading projects and working closely with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Proactive decision‑maker with strong troubleshooting and change management experience.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range*: $55-$60 per hour

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
