Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Lead Ophthalmic Technician to join our ophthalmology team. You will lead the clinical staff, perform preliminary testing, and support ophthalmic procedures.

Occasional travel to Rockville is required. Hours are Mon–Fri, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with emphasis on accurate patient data, efficient clinic flow, and high-quality eye care. This role also demands strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Elevate patient care by gathering comprehensive patient information for accurate diagnoses.
• Perform ophthalmic testing: visual acuity, pupillary responses and more.
• Administer a range of diagnostics: OCT, perimetry, ophthalmic photography.
• Assist in surgical procedures: support during minor surgeries and laser procedures.
• Streamline patient flow in clinic and imaging rooms, collaborating with staff.
• Administer eye drops (Certification Required).
• Contribute to clinic efficiency through clinical and administrative tasks.

Your Impact:

• Elevate patient care: Work closely with our ophthalmologists to gather comprehensive patient information, ensuring accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans.
• Master ophthalmic testing: Conduct thorough preliminary examinations, including visual acuity, pupillary responses, and more.
• Perform advanced diagnostics: Administer a range of diagnostic tests, such as OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography.
• Assist in surgical procedures: Support ophthalmologists during minor surgeries, laser procedures, and crosslinking.
• Streamline patient flow: Efficiently manage patient flow in clinic and imaging rooms, collaborating with clinical staff.
• Administer eye drops: (Certification Required)
• Contribute to clinic efficiency: Perform clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring a smooth and organized workflow.
