Job summary

ReFocus Eye Health in Maryland is seeking a Lead Ophthalmic Technician to join our growing ophthalmology team. You will work closely with ophthalmologists to gather patient information and perform testing and diagnostics to support optimal patient care.

The role includes travel to Rockville, hours M-F 8A-4:30P, leading a team, administering eye drops, and assisting in minor surgeries while ensuring a smooth clinic flow and high-quality service.

Qualifications

  • Leadership experience in a clinical or medical setting.
  • Proven ophthalmic technician experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of medical office procedures.
  • Certification: COA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Gather comprehensive patient information with ophthalmologists.
  • Conduct preliminary examinations: visual acuity, pupillary responses, and more.
  • Perform tests such as OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography.
  • Assist during minor surgeries, laser procedures, and crosslinking.
  • Manage patient flow in clinic and imaging rooms with clinical staff.
  • Administer eye drops (Certification Required).
  • Handle clinical and administrative tasks to ensure smooth workflow.

Your Impact:
  • Elevate patient care: Work closely with our ophthalmologists to gather comprehensive patient information, ensuring accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans.
  • Master ophthalmic testing: Conduct thorough preliminary examinations, including visual acuity, pupillary responses, and more.
  • Perform advanced diagnostics: Administer a range of diagnostic tests, such as OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography.
  • Assist in surgical procedures: Support ophthalmologists during minor surgeries, laser procedures, and crosslinking.
  • Streamline patient flow: Efficiently manage patient flow in clinic and imaging rooms, collaborating with clinical staff.
  • Administer eye drops: (Certification Required)
  • Contribute to clinic efficiency: Perform clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring a smooth and organized workflow.
