Job summary

The Freeman Company’s Event & Exhibit Services team in Boston is seeking a Lead Operations (Part-Time As Needed) to supervise production workers and coordinate activities to deliver high-quality event experiences.

This role combines in-office and on-site duties with a hybrid schedule, requiring strong organization, safety awareness, and the ability to manage schedules, labor estimates, and vendor communications to ensure successful show operations in the Boston area.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of trade show, warehouse operations and/or related experience required.
  • Proficient with Office software including Word and Excel; familiarity with TSS and Concierge Elite.
  • Ability to complete online reports, printing, posting, running inquiries and data entry.
  • Produce trade shows on the 1000–1500 booth level.
  • Basic understanding of OSHA safety requirements.
  • Ability to follow safety rules and contribute to a positive safety culture.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret specs, blueprints, and job orders for workers.
  • Set up procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Produce schedules, labor budgets, and estimates for completion of job assignments.
  • Supervise and dispatch all work performed and supervise workers.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure proper return to warehouse.
  • Keep production records and cost data.
  • Estimate, requisition, and inspect materials.
  • Maintain an orderly, secure boneyard and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Follow safety policies and training; report incidents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent
3+ years of trade show / warehouse operations experience

Summary

It is the responsibility of the Lead Operations (Part-Time As Needed) to supervise and coordinate activities of production workers, while performing the same subordinate duties. Professionally interacts with customers, team members, and third-party vendor/partner representatives to provide the highest level of service excellence.

This position will support our Event & Exhibit Services team. The position follows a hybrid schedule working part-time in-office and/or show-site based out of Boston, MA.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
  • Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Produce production schedules, labor budgets and estimates worker hours requirements for completion of job assignments.
  • Perform duties while superviseing the following duties: loading and unloading equipment, marking floor, setting up service area, meeting rooms, and offices, hanging drape and booth signs, setting up boneyard, etc.
  • Supervise and dispatch all work performed.
  • Perform activities of workers supervised.
  • Ensure that all equipment is returned to warehouse and brokkijuhen or damaged equipment is tagged for repair.
  • Maintain consistently acceptable job cost.
  • Plans daily production schedule. Assigns standby labor as necessary. Maintains time and production records.
  • Estimate, requisition, and inspect materials.
  • Establish and maintain an orderly, efficient, and secure boneyard.
  • Maintain communication with the Account Executive and the Service Desk, and advises of any problems that may affect their operation.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Complete required safety training and apply safe work practices at all times.
  • Immediately report any workplace accidents, near misses, hazards, or unsafe conditions to a manager or through an appropriate reporting channel.
  • Participate in safety discussions and communicate concerns or feedback openly to help maintain a safe work environment.
  • Use tools, equipment, and protective gear properly to prevent injuries and incidents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of trade show, warehouse operations and/or related experience is required.
  • Understanding with: Office software applications including but not limited to email, Microsoft Word, Excel, TSS and Concierge Elite.
  • Must have ability to complete online reports, printing, posting, running inquiries and data entry.
  • Produce trade shows on the 1000 – 1500 booth level.
  • Basic understanding of workplace safety practices and applicable OSHA requirements.
  • Ability to consistently follow safety rules and contribute to a positive safety culture.
Travel Requirements

Travel up to 25%

Our part-time as needed positions are not benefit eligible; however, these roles are eligible to participate in:

  • Hourly range of $20.00-$28.00 based upon experience
