Job summary

Bedrock Ocean Exploration seeks a Hydrographer/Geophysicist to process high-resolution seafloor data (MBES, SSS, magnetometer, sub-bottom) and own rapid quality feedback. You’ll discuss data quality with clients and help explain the value of AUV data, contributing to how uncertainty is defined in ocean data.

You will work with leadership and customers to ensure the highest data quality and collaborate on iterative improvements to survey planning and processing workflows.

Qualifications

• Experience processing and reporting on MBES, SSS, magnetometer, or sub-bottom profiler data.
• Comfort with ArcGIS, QGIS, and/or AutoCAD.
• Experience writing data reports for commercial clients.
• Attention to detail and ability to spot artifacts.

Responsibilities

• Perform first-pass analysis of multibeam, sidescan, magnetometer, and sub-bottom data using specialized software.
• Provide rapid feedback on data quality to guide survey planning and vehicle performance.
• Identify artifacts and anomalies and interpret potential causes.
• Communicate data quality findings with Bedrock leadership and customers.
