Job summary

CVS Health Enterprise Technology is building a world-class Observability Platform to support Fortune-6 scale across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud environments. The Senior Observability Platform Engineer will design, build, and operate high‑throughput services in Go, Python, and Java, enabling OpenTelemetry instrumentation across the enterprise.

You will partner with SRE, Cloud, CI/CD, and security teams to raise reliability, reduce toil, mentor engineers, and deliver self-service observability

Qualifications

5+ years of software engineering experience.
3+ years building backend services in Go and/or Java.
3+ years implementing and operating OpenTelemetry and instrumentation patterns.
3+ years on cloud-native platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, Argo CD).

Responsibilities

Develop and operate core observability platform services using Go, Python, Java (Spring Boot).
Lead enterprise-wide adoption of OpenTelemetry and instrumentation patterns.
Design, architect and scale high-throughput telemetry pipelines (logs, metrics, traces).
Collaborate with SRE, Platform, Cloud, and security teams to establish reliability standards and incident practices.
Produce and maintain technical documentation and best practices.
