Job summary

CVS Health Enterprise Technology is seeking a Senior Observability Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable observability services across multi-cloud environments, using Go, Python, and Java. Lead OpenTelemetry adoption and enhance developer experience with reliable telemetry pipelines.

You will collaborate with SRE, Cloud, CI/CD, and security teams to define SLOs, improve reliability, and mentor engineers while ensuring secure, cost-effective observability across CVS Health

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience with observability practices (SLIs/SLOs/SLAs, alerting, incident management).
• 3+ years building production backend services in Go and/or Java.
• 3+ years implementing and operating OpenTelemetry.
• 3+ years with cloud-native platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, Argo CD).
• 3+ years with major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• 2+ years designing and scaling distributed data pipelines.
• 2+ years with IaC tools (Terraform or CloudFormation).
• 2+ years with Helm charts, Kustomize, etc.
• 2+ years with Grafana OSS or comparable observability backends.

Responsibilities

• Develop and operate core observability platform services using Go, Python, and Java (Spring Boot).
• Support and lead enterprise-wide adoption of OpenTelemetry and instrumentation patterns.
• Design and scale high-throughput telemetry pipelines with focus on performance and cost efficiency.
• Develop self-service observability capabilities for onboarding, troubleshooting, and adoption.
