Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking an O&M Technician I to perform entry-level operation and maintenance tasks at water production facilities under supervision. The role includes monitoring equipment, collecting samples, performing routine tests, and assisting with calibrations while ensuring safety and reliability.

This position involves laborer duties, manual cleaning, and basic troubleshooting, with shifts that may vary.

Qualifications

• Requires good reading, math, writing, scientific, and verbal communication skills; a mechanical aptitude; and the ability to read, interpret, and record data from meters, gauges, scales, panels, computer consoles, and other equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operates equipment manually and through instrumentation panels, computer terminals and programmable logic control units following process control procedures.
• Monitors and observes operating conditions, records observations and data in shift log.
• Diagnoses basic operational problems and takes corrective action per procedure.
• Performs routine CLAIR on machines and related equipment including pumps, engines, centrifuges, generators, valves, gates, mixers, conveyors and related components.
• Collects water, wastewater, industrial waste, groundwater, sludge, residuals and/or gas samples according to schedule and performs field tests to pace chemical dosages.
• Performs routine lab tests and prepares reports per procedure.
• Performs routine instrument calibration for portable meters and related devices.
• Learns to inspect, troubleshoot, dismantle and repair equipment ensuring safe operation.
• Performs manual labor including cleaning equipment, facilities and grounds; operates vehicles and material handling equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
