Job summary

Salinas Valley Health is seeking a Head Nutrition Services Aide who will work under the supervision of Nutrition Services Directors and Supervisors to perform a wide variety of food service tasks, ensuring safety, sanitation and infection control per department policies.

The role requires a high school education or GED, a California Food Handler Card, a valid driver’s license, and at least five years in institutional food service with one year of leadership experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Work requires knowledge generally acquired through a high school education or GED.
• Ability to work effectively with patients, staff and others. Being a team player.

Responsibilities

• Completes all daily restock responsibilities.
• Participates in all ongoing education activities.
• Utilizes in a most-effective manner hospital supplies and equipment.
• Demonstrates and ensures quality service and food safe practices.
• Maintains equipment and work areas in a sanitary and orderly condition.
• Completes all work responsibilities in a specified time.
• Completes required documents.
• Demonstrates flexibility during and in-between heavy workload periods.
• Ensures all work in a particular areas is completed by staff.
• Provides leadership in the absence of a Supervisor by ensuring adequate staffing and by assuring all work in specified areas is completed while maintaining a high level of quality.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
