Southern California Hospitals is seeking a Department Supervisor to provide direct supervision and development of assigned staff in a hospital setting. You will collaborate with Charge Nurses, House Supervisors, and interdisciplinary teams to identify and resolve clinical and operational concerns, reporting to the Director of Nursing.

The role emphasizes staffing oversight, coaching, and real-time problem solving to ensure patient safety and efficient department operations.

Qualifications

• Two years of nursing experience with at least one year in a leadership role in a hospital.
• BSN degree required for licensure and practice.
• Active, current California RN license with no encumbrances.
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Strong time management and prioritization skills.
• Knowledge of patient classification and staffing requirements.
• Fire and Life Safety Card for Los Angeles City Employees if applicable.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct supervision and frontline leadership to department staff.
• Coach, train, and discipline staff per policy; participate in performance assessments.
• Develop staffing schedules and manage payroll during administrative time.
• Oversee daily department operations and patient flow; address operational needs in real time.
• Ensure safe environment of care and escalate safety concerns as needed.
• Collaborate with nurses, providers, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
• Conduct regular patient rounding; communicate priorities and follow up on concerns.
• Drive performance improvement and monitor quality data for the department.
