Job summary

Southern California Hospitals seeks a Department Supervisor to directly supervise and develop staff. You will collaborate with Charge Nurses, House Supervisors, providers and interdisciplinary teams to identify and resolve clinical and operational concerns.

The role reports to the Director of Nursing and escalates issues requiring higher-level intervention as appropriate. Prior leadership and BSN are required, with active CA RN licensure and ACLS/BLS certifications.

Qualifications

• Two years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in a hospital leadership role.
• BSN degree required.
• Active California RN license in good standing.
• AHA Basic Life Support certification.
• AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
• Strong time management and prioritization abilities.
• Understanding of patient classification and staffing requirements.
• Hospital Fire and Life Safety Card (LA city employees only).

Responsibilities

• Supervise and develop assigned department staff.
• Collaborate with Charge Nurses, House Supervisors, providers and other departments to address clinical and operational issues.
• Escalate matters to Director of Nursing when administrative intervention is needed.
• Maintain department staffing schedules and payroll responsibilities.
