Job summary

St. Francis Medical Center in Los Angeles is seeking a Clinical Supervisor to support administrative and operational leadership within the nursing department.

You will develop and implement plans, train staff, and supervise shifts to ensure high-quality patient care and compliance with regulations. The role requires a California RN license (BSN preferred), BLS certification, and several years of charge nurse or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Current and valid California Registered Nurse license.
• Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification on hire and maintained.
• Minimum of three year of Charge Nurse or equivalent experience preferred.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, and CCRN certifications on hire and maintained may be required depending on area.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements departmental plans, including performance improvement activities and compliance with current federal and/or state regulations.
• Prepares, conducts and/or oversees department orientation and training of personnel.
• Communicates with staff, physicians, and administration both written and verbally.
• The Clinical Supervisor is responsible and accountable for the quality of staff and functions during their shift.
• Assists the Department Director in the daily operations of the unit, directing, supervising, and evaluating personnel.
• Ensures the efficient functions of the department.
• Performs direct patient care, only as needed, within the scope of practice.
• Continually assess care and direct staff to make immediate changes in the plan of care.
