Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a lead structural engineer in Reading, PA, to guide a team on design and analysis for nuclear facilities and upgrades. You will interface with clients and other disciplines while directing calculations, specifications, and drawings for varied projects.

The role offers a hybrid schedule (3 days in Reading office, 2 days remote) and opportunities to mentor engineers and contribute to cutting-edge nuclear work, with emphasis on safety, quality, and collaboration.

Qualifications

• BSCE with emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 12+ years of experience on design and analysis of industrial/heavy commercial or nuclear facility structures.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software: STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS.
• Knowledge of design standards: ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
• Strong written and verbal communication; PE or SE license.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of structural engineers and mentor staff on projects for nuclear facilities.
• Prepare, review, and guide design calculations, specifications, and drawing development.
• Oversee structural analysis and design of steel frames, concrete members, and foundations.
• Coordinate client/vendor reviews and field verification of designs.
