Job summary

Quest Defense Systems and Solutions in Wilmington, NC, transitioning to Nampa, ID, seeks a Lead Nuclear IV&V Engineer to drive verification and validation of complex digital I&C systems in the nuclear sector.

You will determine what to verify, how to test it, and what evidence is needed to demonstrate compliance while coordinating across software, hardware, firmware, FPGA, systems engineering, quality, and project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of embedded software development experience with C and development tools.
• Experience developing and executing V&V strategies for complex systems.
• Experience developing test plans, procedures, reports, and traceability.
• Strong configuration management and requirements-based testing knowledge.
• Experience in safety-critical environments (DO-178, ISO 26262).
• Willingness to travel extensively and support onsite assignments.

Responsibilities

• Lead IV&V activities for nuclear digital I&C and embedded systems.
• Translate requirements into verification objectives and test requirements.
• Perform, witness, and evaluate component, subsystem, and system testing.
• Evaluate results and evidence to verify requirements.
• Identify risks and drive issue resolution and closure.
• Document deficiencies and support corrective actions and retests.
• Lead regression testing after design or configuration changes.
• Support test tools, simulators, and production test systems.
• Maintain test environment configuration control and verification evidence.
• Lead or support Factory Acceptance Testing and technical reviews.
• Communicate findings and status to customers and leadership.
• Provide mentoring to engineers and test personnel.
