Job summary

Quest Defense Systems & Solutions (QDSS) is seeking an experienced Nuclear Engineer to support design, modernization, and modification of complex nuclear power plant systems. You will work across multidisciplinary teams to ensure safety, licensing, and operation requirements are met for BWR architectures.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of nuclear design experience and a systems-level understanding of mechanical, electrical, I&C, software, FPGA, and hardware interactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in nuclear power design engineering or related nuclear engineering experience.
• Experience with Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) systems and I&C.
• Strong understanding of BWR plant architecture and system interactions.
• Experience translating safety and plant-level requirements into system requirements.

Responsibilities

• Translate plant-level safety requirements into allocated system requirements.
• Decompose requirements across mechanical, electrical, hardware, software, FPGA, and I&C implementations.
• Develop and review system descriptions, interface documents, cabinet drawings, and connection/route drawings.
• Evaluate changes to mechanical, electrical, process, instrumentation, control, and safety systems.
• Support engineering change packages and plant design modifications.
• Perform requirements quality, completeness, and traceability reviews.
• Participate in design reviews, licensing reviews, and Technical Specifications markups.
• Assess licensing impacts of design changes.
