Job summary

Quest Defense Systems and Solutions seeks a Lead Embedded Software Verification & Validation Engineer to lead IV&V of nuclear digital I&C systems. This role requires designing verification strategies, leading testing, and coordinating across software, hardware, firmware, FPGA, and project teams.

The position involves extensive travel (≈50%), onsite Wilmington, NC initially, with potential relocation to Nampa, ID.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years in embedded software development with C and toolchains (GitLab, Jira, LDRA, Arm Development Studio, Visual Studio, GDB).
• Experience creating and executing V&V strategies for complex systems.
• Experience developing test plans, procedures, reports, and requirements traceability.
• Strong understanding of configuration management and requirements-based testing.
• Experience in safety-critical environments (DO-178, ISO 26262).
• Willingness to travel extensively and support extended onsite assignments.

Responsibilities

• Lead IV&V activities for nuclear digital I&C and embedded control systems.
• Translate requirements into verification objectives and test requirements.
• Perform, witness, and evaluate component to system testing.
• Evaluate results and evidence to determine if requirements are met.
• Identify risks and drive issues to closure and retest.
• Document deficiencies and support investigation and corrective action.
• Lead or support Factory Acceptance Testing and technical reviews.
• Communicate test status and findings to customers and leadership.
• Mentor engineers and test personnel.
