Job summary

HukariAscendent is seeking a Nuclear Facility Safety Engineer (Senior/Fellow Level) for a 12-month assignment at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN. Provide expert safety support for DOE facilities and serve as a Lead Facility Safety Engineer for the 9212/9215 Complexes, mentoring incoming engineers.

Qualifications include a Doctorate-like depth with 15+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s with equivalent, in-depth knowledge of hazard analyses, safety documentation, and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree plus 15+ years of direct experience, including 10+ years DOE Nuclear/Safety Analysis Engineering experience (or a Master's with equivalent experience)
Hazard identification, hazard screening, and hazard evaluation experience
Experience with accident/consequence analysis and controls for prevention/mitigation
Experience documenting safety analysis reports and technical safety requirements
Working knowledge of 10 CFR 830 Subpart B, DOE-STD-3009-94, and DOE-STD-1189-2008
Familiarity with issues raised by the DNFSB related to DOE facilities
Demonstrated experience as Lead Facility Safety Engineer for a DOE nuclear facility
