Job summary

Lilly Neuroscience in South San Francisco seeks an Associate Vice President, Head of Transactions and M&A to oversee all business development transactions within the Neuroscience unit, including M&A, in-licensing, out-licensing/divestitures, and equity investments. Partner with commercial and research leaders to identify opportunities and execute strategic partnerships.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years pharmaceutical industry experience in business development (affiliate/unit/corporate), R&D, finance, sales/marketing, new product planning, or project management.
• Bachelor’s degree; MBA/PhD/MD preferred.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States; no anticipated visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Oversee neuroscience transactions across all development stages; lead deal negotiations, licensing agreements, M&A, and strategic collaborations.
• Lead deal teams; collaborate cross-functionally (Legal, Corporate Investment & Financial Banking, Accounting & Finance Planning, Alliance Management) to drive transaction success and efficiency.
• Coach and oversee Senior Directors on the Transactions team.
• Partner with the neuroscience Search & Evaluation team to identify and evaluate external opportunities.
• Influence senior leadership and partners on key decisions to access new portfolios, technologies, processes, products/molecules, or services.
• Lead large-scale, high-risk/complex business development initiatives.
• Create/foster strategic relationships with key external partners; solve unique, complex problems.
