Job summary

Lead Network Engineer at Tarrant County IT oversees design, installation, and management of the LAN/WAN infrastructure across county campuses. Focuses on fault tolerance, QoS, security, and VoIP integration.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain Access layer Ethernet switches for LANs, with fault-tolerant topology.
Install, configure, and maintains Distribution and Core layer routers/switches across 66 county buildings.
Design and maintain multi-story building networks using fiber, copper, and wireless tech.
Manage WAN connectivity including leased lines and microwave links.
Design, implement, and manage county WiFi networks (802.11x).
Manage VPN and remote access; configure RADIUS for VPN/WiFi.
Monitor network devices using management software and perform packet traces to diagnose issues.
Develop standards for equipment and protocols; propose new technologies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
