Job summary

Tarrant County in Texas seeks a Lead Network Engineer to design, install, and manage the county’s network across LAN, WAN, and data centers. The role focuses on fault tolerance, QoS, VoIP, and secure remote access.

You will lead projects, monitor performance, and implement standards while collaborating with IT teams and partner agencies to ensure reliable connectivity and high availability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT-related field required.
• 3 years' experience in Layer 2/Layer 3 Network Infrastructure.
• CNNA certification required.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain access-layer switches for LANs.
• Design fault-tolerant topologies and QoS for voice, video, and data.
• Manage WAN connectivity across County buildings and partner agencies.
• Operate VoIP system and enterprise voicemail.
• Monitor network using management software and troubleshoot issues.
• Research new networking products and propose standards.
