Job summary

Roadrunner is growing and seeking a Lead Software Engineer (.NET) to drive engineering practices and hands-on design within the applications team. You’ll work with our Director of Architecture to deliver scalable, secure services that impact how freight moves.

This role emphasizes mentoring, modernizing legacy systems, and collaborating with operations and business leaders to solve real-world freight problems using cloud-native technologies on Azure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years building production software in C#/.NET, including modern .NET, ASP.NET Core.
• Strong SQL Server skills and data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable, secure services and web apps using C#, .NET 8+, ASP.NET Core, React, Azure.
• Modernize legacy applications via refactoring and re-platforming.
• Design APIs and integrations with internal systems, customers, and partners.
• Own production quality: CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and secure coding.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and design discussions.
• Collaborate with operations and business leaders to translate freight problems into software.
