Job summary

H&H is seeking a Bridge Inspector to join the Raleigh, NC office and contribute to NBIS bridge inspection projects across North Carolina. The role involves leading a team, managing inspection and reporting phases, and performing QC duties in a dynamic, field-oriented environment.

The ideal candidate has NCDOT bridge inspection experience, NHI safety certification, and strong writing and client-relations skills.

Qualifications

Certified NCDOT Team Lead is required.
Notable NCDOT Bridge Inspection experience is required.
NHI Safety Inspection Certification (130055) or equivalent is required or preferred.
WIGINS experience is preferred.
Load Rating and Report Writing experience is required.
Valid US driver’s license is required.
Experience with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam is required.
Strong client relationship skills and writing ability are essential.
B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering is preferred.
NC PE license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead a team to perform NBIS element-level inspections of bridges and related structures across NC.
Oversee inspection phases and perform Quality Control duties.
Instruct Assistant Team Leaders and assign inspection and report-writing tasks.
Document conditions and oversee report writing for junior inspectors.
Possess opportunities to perform structural analysis and load rating as needed.
Act as client contact and coordinate with subconsultants and equipment vendors.
