Volkert Inc. in Raleigh, NC is seeking an experienced Bridge Inspection Team Leader to support the Carolinas Region.

The role oversees a 2-person team, conducts field inspections of bridges and related structures, and prepares detailed inspection reports while traveling as assignments require. Candidates must have NBIS and NHI courses, at least 5 years of bridge inspection experience with 1 year as team leader, a valid driver’s license and clean MVR, and be able to pass a pre-employment drug

Qualifications

• Requires NBIS Bridge Inspection Course and NHI safety/training.
• Minimum 5+ years bridge inspection experience, with at least 1 year as NBIS Team Leader.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen; valid driver’s license and clean MVR.
• In-state travel required.

Responsibilities

• Lead a 2-person bridge inspection team across NC.
• Perform field inspections on bridges, light standards, culverts, pipes, signs, and walkways.
• Prepare detailed reports describing conditions found during inspections.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and manage traffic control during inspections.
• Schedule and plan team activities per bridge priorities.
• Lead inspections in the field and in the office as needed.
• Operate access equipment and related inspection tools.
