Job description

$20,000 Sign-on Bonus

Job Overview:

Under the direction of the radiologist and the supervision of the manager or supervisor, the MR Lead Technologist is responsible for the daily distribution of resources and flow of workload, develops and maintains equipment QC, and with the radiologists develops, and implements new procedures including training team members as needed. Maintains department exam quality through regular review of exam quality, competency evaluations of team members, monitors exam quality and technical requirements of exams, and feedback and interaction with physicians. Performs competency evaluations of technical personnel. Works effectively with patients and families to provide patient care, maintaining a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental team members, and complies with infection prevention procedures. The lead technologist also performs the duties of a MR technologist as required. The lead technologist serves on protocol committees and performs and assists with ACR certification. This position must meet all state licensing requirements and demonstrate ongoing proficiency in required skills. This position adheres to the Practice Standard defined by the ASRT.

Job Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree in Allied Health
  • Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • ARRT or NMTCB
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS)
  • MRI safety procedures

  • 3-4 years experience Clinical Allied Health in a related field
  • Experience Supervisor/Lead Allied Health

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leads work groups to provide quality service.
  • Organizes daily patient and team member schedules for efficient use of resources.
  • Oversees quality of staff technologists.
  • Maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental team members.
  • Produces and evaluates quality diagnostic exams for radiological interpretation and working knowledge of equipment and its operating procedures through ongoing CBE's.
  • Selects proper imaging protocols and follows departmental procedures.
  • Performs competency evaluations of technical personnel.
  • Provides for patient and family comfort prior to, during, and after a procedure.
  • Recognizes and responds appropriately to emergent situations.
  • Maintains accurate records through the completion of all paperwork.
  • Demonstrates professional demeanor while performing organizational and communication skills to promote the well-being of the department.
