Job summary

Veracyte seeks a Principal Bioinformatics Scientist in San Diego to lead the bioinformatics strategy for MRD assays and guide development from concept through validation and launch. You will own assay bioinformatics, drive data analysis, and partner with wet-lab, clinical, quality, regulatory, and software teams to deliver robust MRD diagnostics.

The role requires deep oncology NGS expertise, ctDNA biology, and a track record of industry assay development under design control.

Qualifications

• PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, Biostatistics, or closely related field.
• Minimum 8 years of total relevant experience, with at least 5 years in industry biotech/diagnostics/regulatory environments.
• Experience leading NGS-based clinical diagnostic assay development, including ctDNA MRD assays.

Responsibilities

• Lead bioinformatics strategy for MRD assay design, development, optimization and lifecycle management under CAP/CLIA.
• Design, validate, and maintain production-ready bioinformatics pipelines for MRD analysis.
• Collaborate with wet-lab, clinical, QA/RA, and software teams to ensure regulatory alignment.
