Job summary

Veracyte, Inc. is seeking a Principal Bioinformatics Scientist to lead MRD assay bioinformatics, from concept to analytical validation and launch.

You will shape the bioinformatics strategy, partner with wet-lab and clinical teams, and drive regulatory-compliant development of LDTs for oncology indications. You will own analytics, design study plans, and develop scalable pipelines, while mentoring junior scientists and communicating complex results to leadership.

Qualifications

• PhD in a quantitative field with extensive bioinformatics experience.
• Minimum 8 years total experience, including 5+ years in biotech or regulated settings.
• Experience leading NGS-based clinical assay development with ctDNA MRD.
• Strong Python programming and production-grade pipeline development.
• Experience in CAP/CLIA regulated environments and design control.
• Ability to work with wet lab, regulatory, and software teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead bioinformatics strategy for MRD assays under CAP/CLIA systems.
• Own study design, data analysis, performance characterization, and decisions.
• Develop scalable bioinformatics pipelines for MRD analysis and reporting.
• Benchmark computational methods and model background errors.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and rigorous documentation throughout development.
• Collaborate with molecular biology, QA/RA, clinical, and software teams.
