Job summary

Parker Hannifin Corporation is seeking a Sr Systems Engineer to design motion control systems for off-highway equipment and US defense applications. You will lead system concept development, validation, and cross‑functional collaboration to deliver reliable, cost-effective solutions.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5+ years in OEM construction equipment or defense projects, with strong hydraulics, pneumatics and electromechanical expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and minimum of five years’ experience in the design of OEM construction equipment or US Defense industry.
• Knowledge of motion control technologies & control strategies, including hydraulics, pneumatics & electromechanical solutions.
• Previous OEM machine application knowledge and basic project management techniques.
• Technical proficiency with hydraulic close loop and open loop system design concepts.
• Ability to apply broad knowledge of related engineering areas to area of systems expertise.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements related to assigned area.
• Ability to assess and effectively implement continuous improvement principles and techniques.
• Ability to solve a wide range of difficult technical problems creatively and practically.
• Ability to lead and influence teams and present project status.

Responsibilities

• Layout, design and create hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical drawings via CAD.
• Develop control architectures for motion control systems using various strategies.
• Perform mathematical modeling and simulation for hydraulic systems.
• Develop test plans and perform accelerated testing on prototypes.
• Monitor prototypes and ensure proper assembly and functionality.
• Review test reports and ensure compliance; develop action plans.
• Write work instructions for prototype and test technicians and assist lab testing.
• Provide leadership to the engineering team and coordinate cross-functional work.
• Define system descriptions and validation processes with embedded traceability.
• Develop interface, maintenance and training documentation.
